Marydith Palazo | Financial Controller

Celebrating her 10-year anniversary with Nanosonics in February 2022, Marydith Palazo, Financial Controller, was first drawn to Nanosonics by the opportunity to contribute to “work that mattered,” and to make a difference in the young but growing organization. “Previously, I worked as an Auditor with Ernst & Young, but came to a point in my career in which I was ready for something different. I’m really proud to be part of a company that has grown so much in the last decade!”

As the Financial Controller, Marydith operates out of the Nanosonics headquarters in Sydney, Australia. “There were only five of us in the Finance team when I started, so everyone had to be a jack of all trades! The team has grown substantially since then, and we’re now getting to a point in which we’re each developing our specializations.” In addition to reporting the financials, annual reports, and controls the company has in place, Marydith is also directly involved with commercial operations. “I got to be involved with the team setting up operations in the U.S., and in the establishment of other oversees markets (Europe, Canada, Japan, etc).”

“When I joined the team, Nanosonics was just getting started with distribution of trophon® devices in North America via GE. At that point, Keith Koby and John Corbett were the only employees in the U.S. As the addressable market grew, we hired a few sales reps – the ‘Nan 5.’ The goal was to establish 100 units in the market, and every single device installed was celebrated! We didn’t have a big customer base yet at that time, so it was exciting to be involved with a growing company. We’ve hit so many milestones since then, including 25,0000 trophon devices installed in North America – it really is amazing!”

The trophon® family includes trophon® EPR and trophon®2, which share the same core technology of ‘sonically activated’ hydrogen peroxide.
