Nanosonics Leeds Study Day 2024 Highlights

On the 12th of March 2024, at Leeds Horizon, Nanosonics sponsored the CPD-accredited Leeds Study Day: The Future of Ultrasound Probe Decontamination, where healthcare professionals heard about the latest best practices and innovations in decontaminating ultrasound probes.

The complimentary event was a great success and saw delegates engage, discuss, question, and network with expert speakers and other like-minded people.

The Study Day was designed to help improve the safety of patients, clinics, their staff, and the environment by promoting the best practice of decontamination of ultrasound probes and the way infection prevention practices are understood and conducted.

The first half of the day comprised of interactive talks from a range of industry experts, covering:

  • A sonographer’s perspective of decontamination
  • Implementing an ultrasound infection prevention toolkit
  • Journey to higher level decontamination for transvaginal probes
  • Value of setting up a training & education network
  • Q&A Session

In the second half of the day, delegates were split into smaller groups to participate in hands-on workshops covering:

  • Achieving cleaning & high-level-disinfection with safe & effective solutions
  • Total dirty-to-clean process for ultrasound probes.

We received very positive feedback from our attendees.

Nicole Ong, Radiographer at Nuffield Health York Hospital said: “The event was very interactive and I'm really satisfied with all the knowledge I've acquired.”

Grace Harrison, Sonographer at Liverpool Women's Hospital said: “Really enjoyed it - the whole team are so friendly and approachable - and genuinely passionate about what they do.”

We are pleased to share with you a copy of each speaker’s educational presentation.
