Nanosonics Scotland Study Day 2024 Highlights

Nanosonics Scotland Study Day 2024 Highlights

On the 18th of June 2024, at the Golden Jubilee Hotel in Glasgow, Nanosonics sponsored the CPD-accredited Scotland Study Day: Advancing Ultrasound Probe Decontamination, where healthcare professionals heard about the latest best practices and innovations in decontaminating ultrasound probes.

The complimentary event was a great success and saw delegates engage, discuss, question, and network with expert speakers and other like-minded people.

The Study Day was designed to help improve the safety of patients, clinics, their staff, and the environment by promoting the best practice of decontamination of ultrasound probes and the way infection prevention practices are understood and conducted.

The first half of the day comprised of interactive talks from a range of industry experts, covering:

  • Implementing an ultrasound infection prevention toolkit
  • A sonographer’s perspective of decontamination
  • Probe decontamination ultrasound: how, why and when
  • Nanosonics Superuser network
  • Quality improvements for decontaminating TEE probes
  • Q&A Session

In the second half of the day, delegates were split into smaller groups to participate in hands-on workshops covering:

  • Achieving cleaning & high-level-disinfection with safe & effective solutions
  • Total dirty-to-clean process for ultrasound probes.

There was great fun to be had during our interactive quiz.  Congratulations to Sarah Douglas, Stuart Cameron and Murray Galloway.

We received very positive feedback from our attendees.

Katrina Black, Senior IPC Nurse at NHS Golden Jubilee said: “Excellent Day, very informative sessions. Well presented.”

Suzanne Briggs, Radiographer at NHSP Wythenshawe Hospital said: “Outstanding communication, organisation, education training and venue. Good interaction with delegates.”
